Sun., February 14, 10:30am: SOUPER Bowl of Caring Sunday! Please bring a can of soup
and place it in the pot of the team you want to win the 2010 Super Bowl! All food and cash donations will replenish local
food cupboards for families in need.
Also, it's time for our annual "Valentine's for Vets" craft project,
making Valentine's Day greetings for local residential homes for Veterans. Come out with your red,
white and blue to make a Veteran's day all the more special, thanking them for
their service to our beautful country.

Tues., February 16, 7pm: Lawncrest Community Association meeting at St. William's Church (6200
Rising Sun Avenue). Come out for this monthly meeting to support our local neighborhood!
Wed., February 17: Ash Wednesday - ashes will be distributed at 7 p.m. in the Chapel and the
worship service with Holy Communion will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the main sanctuary. Sermon: "Why
Take Communion?"

Sun., February 28, 8:30am: "Aid for Friends Cook-a-Thon!" Put on your apron and help us
make three complete hot meals and breakfast bags for this terrific non-profit organization. Last time, we made 65 meals.

Sun., April 4, 10:30am: Easter Sunday. Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen indeed! Holy Communion
will be offered during the service.
Sun., April 11, 8:00am: Avenue Angels Clean Up Day! Join Bethany and our neighbors as we clean
Rising Sun Avenue from Fanshawe to Levick Streets. With additional help, can we clean down to Lawncrest Recreational Center?
Refreshments will be served at Bethany at 10am and everyone is invited to stay for services at 10:30. The more people we have,
the cleaner our neighborhood becomes!
Sat., May 15, 8-11:30am (tentative): Pancake Breakfast! Who doesn't love a good old-fashioned
pancake breakfast?!? Adult tickets are $6.00; children under 12 are $4.00. All proceeds fund Bethany's ministry and community
outreach programs.

Historically
and symbolically related to the Jewish harvest
festival of Shavuot, which commemorates God giving the Ten
Commandments at Mount
Sinai fifty days after the Exodus, Pentecost now also commemorates the descent of the Holy
Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus as described in the Book
of Acts, Chapter 2 in the New
Testament. For this reason, Pentecost is sometimes described as "the Church's birthday".
Holy Communion will also be served. Don't forget to wear something red!

September ?: CROP Walk for Hunger. More information will be forthcoming on this terrific walk
to raise funds for our neighbors in need.
